I am putting outer axle bearings(wheel bearings) in my 04 Ranger. Axle code R7
It has a 8.8 diff cover 10" x2.5" rear brakes, 2.25OD x 1.375 ID bearing. But for
some reason the 6408 wheel bearing I got from Advance are WAY too big.
The Torrington bearing that came out DB67309 crosses over to a 5707 which they show as a 7.5"

Most Rangers came with either the 7.5 or 28-spline 8.8, which use the same bearings. Only a few, namely the FX4 models, came with the 31 spline 8.8. The parts store computer SHOULD list all three options, but it's possible and likely the computer erroneously omitted one or more of those options.
In the future, if you're looking for rear bearings or seals, just lie to the parts guy and tell him you have a 7.5.
