This issue has become progressively worse in the last 9 months and it drives me crazy. When I first start my 1995 PSD (manual) it runs absolutely fine until it warms up and the rough idle starts, but intermittently. It may occur when I push the clutch in at 6 stop signs and the 8th its fine. I could stop to get fuel and leave it run and its fine for the first 10 mins. and then the rough idle starts. It has a new fuel pump, rebuilt fuel bowl and lines, I did the BB mod, I replaced the passenger side valve gasket, the ICP sensor is relatively new. It doesn't have a programer. The only mods. beside the BB mod. is K & N Induction System and turbo back exhaust (cat delete). When the rough idle is occurring, if I gave it just a little bit of throttle it disappears. It acts almost like a gas motor with the idle screw turned down too much. At a loss here, any help would be appreciated.
I believe the CPS is the original. In the 8 yrs, I have owned the truck I never changed it. I didn't think the CPS would make it act like that. I'm not sure what the IPR is?
CPS can do some funky things, I wouldn't be totally surprised. I'd pull the ipr and check the orings first. If you do, you should get a set of orings for it, they are cheap. Check with ford or ih, or order them from riffraff or dieselorings.com
