i just bought a 96 ford ranger v6 automatic. it has around 105k miles on it. i started it this morning and like it always does it started to slowly build up and then die then i just pushed the gas pedal then its fine, i think i got that solved but when i put it in reverse it drove then i put it in drive and it acted like it wasnt gonna shift?!? I am not mechanically inclined whatsoever and that little episode worried me this morning does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be

 

Could be several things, check engine light on? Where in the state are you located?
