Are there any reputable transmission guys around Hot Springs, AR? Trans out of the blue just started shifting hard out of First gear. Some intermittent rattling noise. Serviced not even 2000 miles ago at Riser Ford. 117k easy miles.

 

Went to Tim's transmission on Albert Pike. Second gear has gone out. Threw codes PO500 Vehicle Speed, PO781 1-2 Shift Error, PO732 Gear 2 Incorrect Ratio and PO720 Speed Sensor. Quote of $2195 plus tax with good TC and some upgrades.

 

Check out BTS in Lead Hill, it will be a bit more than that, but they are generally considered one pf the better builders in the country.

Truck in shop and torn down. One-way clutch shelled. He says it is a ratchet type that was experimental and was only used for about 6 months. I'll get some pictures and post them later.
