Hey Guys! The Fluid Level Is Fine. Just Did F&f Change - It Had Already Started Acting Up, So Figured This Would Help. It Did For A Couple Of Days. Then It Started Again.
It Does Have Reverse.
Giving It Gas In Fwd Worked Some Of The Time, Then Not At All.
It Doesn't Make Any Unusual Noises.
Checked Shift Linkage And That's Ok.
Checked Fuses And Everything Else We Could Think Of Too. I'm Just Glad It's Not My Truck! I'm Just Trying To Help A Friend. He's Getting Really Frustrated Though.
Any Ideas Where To Get A Good Used Or Rebuilt Tranny For This, Or Do Ya Have Any Other Suggestions For Me? The Guy Ain't Rich Wildman.
Thanks For Yer Replies. I'll Check Back Later. L

Thanks For The Info. It's Kinda What We Were Beginning To Think Too. Was Just Hoping It Would Be Something Simple That We'd Overlooked. My Friend (the Ranger Owner) Said His Buddy Saw An Ad In The Paper With Rebuilts For $200. Does That Sound About Right To Ya'll?
See Ya! L
if you can find a rebuilt for 200 dollars, I'd say, find out what kind of guarantee it would have.
One major transmission chain has an average price for rebuilding a transmission of around 1200-1500 dollars, and you can't even find a remanufactured for less than that.
Just remember....You get what you pay for, so check it out before you buy it.
