Congrats on the beautiful new truck. I too switched from SRW to DRW. However my reason was probably a little different than some. My 5th wheel is not that big 34'. However living in the Midwest a facing the relentless crosswinds traveling on I40 to California pushed me to a DRW.
I have fought the winds with the SRW from daylight to bedtime for days on end. The DRW makes this issue go away. Now I'm not fighting to keep the rig in my lane, what an unbelievable difference.
Now, just set the cruise control and enjoy the Sirius radio and the comfortable seats. My truck has the lower HP engine, but seems to have all the power it needs. And now I don't have to worry about the close clearance between the top of the bed rails and the underneath of the 5er.
Anyhow, you are going to love the rig. Oh yeah love the white!!!!!!!!!!
White is the color for sure. Never thought I would have owned one but I rather like it
I never thought I would own a white truck, but I have really liked it! It is much cooler in the GA heat. It doesn't show dust like all of my black trucks have, but it does show road film just as bad. I will strongly consider white if I buy another one.
There are two whites in the Ford Super Duty truck line-up.. The Platinum is a Tri-Coat white with a lot of pearl in it and it is much thicker paint and more resilient.. It is pretty special and as far as I know, it's the only tri-coat paint color..
Thanks for all of the compliments! Really enjoying the truck.
I was poking around on it last night and got to looking at what was going to be involved with putting the airbags on this one. Last truck had the B&W gooseneck hitch in it. This one has the ford factory gooseneck in it. It looked to me like I'm going to have to take the side plates off of the Ford hitch to access the big holes in the frame for the large bolts that go on each side for the airbags. I didn't have to do that on the old truck with the b&w hitch. Is there an easier way that I'm missing?
