Have you checked the lug nuts? The shocks look old but don't look like they blew out. Also, is the feeling you get a high/low speeds, only going over bumps, etc.
I just found a hose with a white plastic tip that comes out of rear diff. It was not hooked in. Any idea where it goes
That's probably just the diff's breather, with a cap on it to minimize water intrusion. It just needs to be tied up out of the way with enough slack to not get tight when the rear suspension flexes.
While you are inspecting everything also check your rear leaf packs. It won't explain the fluid but might explain the noise or chatter. And also check the shackles, I had one break a few years ago on an Explorer .
