Auxiliary water pump question.

Hey has anyone's secondary water pump gone out on them? What is that like. My trucks belt shredded on me. The primary has no leak, all pulleys spin like a champ. Except for the auxiliary water pump pulley. Auxiliary barely makes 1 whole turn if that. Not hard to turn just doesn't spin. And had just a tad bit of wiggle to it. Where as the other pulleys are solid. Should I change that po pump and add a belt? Out of state so stranded in cold Nebraska atm on new years eve. Thanks in advance

I have a 2013 with 246K on the oem water pumps. You'd think if they were failing alot this thread would have alot more posts?

Agreed! I had 275k on my '12 and never changed pump. I have 168K on wife's '11 haven't changed that one yet either.

BUT.......just had main pump on my '16 start dumping coolant with 70k. So I think its pretty random.

The primary water pump went on my 2011 at 22,000 miles. It went on my 2016 at 46,000 miles. The same time my upper oil pan leaked the second time around. I must be hard on water pumps.
