I am prepping to install the emergency flasher into my 64 F250. The light goes in the open hole and the switch is located on the bracket (not shown). Where do the wires need to go? As you can see mine have been cut so I am at a loss. I have Red-Black, Green-White, White-Blue, and a Orange-Yellow not connected to anything.
I have looked in both my Parts Manual and Shop Manual but can not find the wiring diagram needed.
The emergency flashers were an add on at the dealer, and they are listed in the parts manual. My 61 F100 had the emergency flashers, I remember having to use them all the time, especially when it rained and my distributor would get wet going through mud puddles.
Thank you ND. Now if some one will come by and help with the wiring I will have a nice little project to do today. I need to find a new retirement hobby, this on is getting expensive.
John, that is understandable and I guess I can try and see why you made an inaccurate guess on my age because I have my service dog Kirby in my window. We all make false assumptions, such as, I thought an older gentleman smiling in his picture, would be some one that would be helpful and informative in their advice.
My 64 F350 came with Emergency flashers from the dealer. The original owner worked at the dealer so it got just about EVERY option known. Let me know if you need help with what wires go where. I'm in CT, so a little far away for a physical visit, but I'll be glad to help over the net. PM me or Email if you wish; csand1@unh.newhaven.edu.
But but Mr. Wilson, just look at your old hound, sad looking eyes, ears dragging the ground, like many 70 year olds. Looks like another ol fart that needs to be left alone with a bone to chew on.
KT, I do apologize for my bad vision, and not being able to enlarge Kirby's image I just couldn't tell. If you had used a photo of your truck with an old fart beside of it and a American flag tattooed on his arm I would have had a completely different 1st opinion.
Guys, I think he just needs to know where those wires hook up, or did I read something wrong.
Not sure but I think the orange one might go to the center post on the ignition switch and the others tie into the turn signal switch some how. Just a guess. Not sure. Maybe someone has a close up of a wire diagram.
white/blue = RH front park light
white/green = LH front park light
Red /Black = rear taillights
Orange/ yellow = switch to emergency flasher unit and from there to warning light back to switch and to fuse panel
this is the way my 66 is wired , yours should be similar I would think
