repop bumper and AC question

Two quick questions: looking at buying repop chrome front and rear numbers for my 64 styleside from the truck shop in orange ca. Anyone have any good or bad expirences with these? In aware the repop front bumpers are a bit longer than stock.

Looking to add aftermarket. AC/heater system to the truck. For those that have done this does the new system attach or use the fresh air vents in each kick panel? I ask cause need to fix both vent doors and don't want to waist my time if I don't need to. Thanks and happy new year!

Anyone have any good or bad experiences with these? I'm aware the 1964/66 repop front bumpers are a bit longer than the 1967/77 bumpers.
Ford changed the bumper ends in 1967, but didn't change the part number, kept the original part number (C4TZ-17757-D chrome) for all 1964/77.
Blue Oval Truck Parts in Anaheim also has these bumpers, the quality will probably be about the same as they're made in China.

I've been to the Truck & Car Shop several times as it's about 30 minutes (or so depending on traffic) away from my residencia.

The first time I was there, I pulled into the parking lot and a guy (I named him Mr. Klutz) had bought front/rear bumpers for a 1969 Mustang ragtop.

Mr. Klutz first tried placing them in the trunk, but anyone with half a brain could see that both were way too long to fit.

So he attempts to place them inside, between the front bucket seats and the back seat. Realized PDQ that it would be much easier if he lowered the top.

So he places both bumpers on the top, then hits the switch, top begins to go down, bumpers begin to fall off. I yelled "STOP .. look what the hell you're doing!"

So he places both bumpers on the ground, then picks both up when the top went down. While attempting to place both inside, he dropped one of them. It hit the door sill, then one end hit the ground.

When he picked it up...it had two dents in it.

Went back inside...leaving the top down and one of the bumpers in plain view, found out there were no returns on damaged parts.

Wax frequently...as Chinese made bumpers have no copper plating, they plate the chrome onto bare steel. Before too long, these bumpers begin to pit.

Genuine Ford bumpers had two coats of copper plating, one coat of chrome plating.

I put an integrated Classic Auto Air unit in my '66 CC with FE V8. The unit is much bigger than the deluxe heater box that was in there, taking up much of what was the original glove box. They do provide you with a new much smaller glove box so that you'll at least have something. To answer your question, the unit does NOT interfere with the air vent doors on either side. Having said that, your vent system on your '64 may be different than mine is on the '66. Hope this is of some use to you.

Thanks for the replys. Need to find a stock chrome front bumper now that's in decent shape. I'd like to avoid rechroming if possible.
