transmission line leaking

So, my truck has been extremely dependable over the last many years.
Earlier this year while visiting family in Grand Haven MI, a power steering line developed a leak. Trans fluid all over their driveway in a nice subdivision. I felt really bad but was able to find a store open on a Sunday afternoon to get a new line. Got it in and cleaned everything up the best I could. Their drive looked nice until I pulled in tonight... Trans line leaking above the front axle. I need to clean everything up tomorrow to determine where it's leaking. Looks like a line rusted through.
Can I patch in a hose until I get a new line? Is a line needed or will the hose work? At this point I just want to get the truck home. 2.5 hour drive home.

Should I order pre-bent lines? Bend my own? I've done brake lines in the past but those are a standard sizes.

I can't check back until tomorrow afternoon. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Yes you can cut the rusted part of the line out and replace that section with 3/8" hose to get you by. Use 2 hose clamps at each connection since the tube is a smooth cut.

Or Autozone sells Dorman factory replacement lines for around 40 bucks. That will be your best bet for the time being. I have the part #'s if you want.

In case you can't find a Ford OEM line before your trip, here's the Autozone PN's:
Supply line 624-059 $40
Return line 624-058 $25

Funny, I never look forward to the trip but, I always have a good time while here.

Thanks to all for the replies. And, Happy New Year!

I'll do the patch for now and put in new lines when I get home.

just to follow up in case others run into this same issue...
The trans cooler lines run over the cross member and rub against the power wire to the starter. The starter wire has a woven sheath to protect it. The lines both started rusting at the touch point. The send line had to have a bout 12" removed and a hose double clamped to get me going again.
I'll replace both lines when the temps get above freezing.

Thanks for the help. And, anyone in the rust belt, you may want to add this to your failure prevention list.
