Aww your poor truck. Anyone does that to my 78, they better hope they die in the crash....just sayin!
We were loaded down for a two week camping trip at O'Dell Lake and pulling a 19' boat. If it hadn't been for wanting to pick up a couple of parts at the old Staff Jennings, we would have never been on the 'surface' streets in the PDRoE that day. Anyway, after the impact and before I & my 45 could introduce the Long haired friend of Jesus to the "real" Jesus, EPD interfered.
I see we actually have a Sat. morning BS contingent.
It's so nice up here, I might put the boat in the water today and put some RPMs to the big outboard.
My buddy called and asked if my boat was ready to go. Said the herring were in the bay and his boat was still winterized and needed a little tweeking on the motor. I had to tell him that mine was sitting here still winterized as well. With this sunshine it just might be time to pull the tarps, put the batteries and spark plugs back in and........

EPD interfered?..........Did they get out their little books to check and see if arresting the hippies might "violate their human rights"?
EPD is a sad excuse for a PD...........Springfield is where actual policing is practiced, and where a little too much attitude will get your bell rung........or a case of acute lead poisoning.
Now that sucks. All ready to go have some fun and some stupid moron ruins it. Well it would have been a waste of ammo anyhow lol
It was early morning when it happened. My son still drove a tow truck in those days and he and his father-in-law thought it would be worth driving 95 miles to Eugene to salvage "Ole Blue". We found a used 1987 F250 with 90K on it on a car lot in Springfield for 5K. We bought that on a credit card I carry just for "extreme" emergencies when on the road. By 0200 we had everything transferred over and continued our trip. Out of a planned 14 day camp, we lost one day. Thankfully, none of us were injured and the insurance (State Farm) was fantastic.
Son got Ole Blue the next day and took her home. Ended up getting parted out.
As to ammo, not a problem have plenty and reload as well.

Do you remember a Springfield PD Officer Wilson who was seriously injured in 91 or 92 when a Cadillac pulled in front of him and took him off his police motorcycle on 126 at the Mohawk interchange? My partner and I were there for that. Had been riding with him and some others just seconds before and it was his turn to "leap frog" up and block the interchange.
Worked and trained with both and several officers I trained ended up getting transfers to EPD and Springfield. There was definitely a war going on between Springfield and Eugene though.
One of the two motor officers sitting down the street and saw it, just happened to be one of my instructors when I went through the Advanced Motor Officers (get crazy and die) Course.
Okay well getting the running boards install and the roll bar is not looking so good. You see the guy across the street was helping me and he seems to be gone for the day. My running boards are in his garage
Don't forget the plug Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Started up on the first crank, ran great, just a slow idle around Leaburg lake with occasional throttle........Leaving the plug out is for Navy guys who never look anyway, in the AF we have pre-flight check lists.

Man I should have driven up that way so I could have gone for a boat ride
