Is the blower actually running? Is all of the air coming out the defrost vents?
Check the vacuum supply line from the intake manifold and verify the notorious white vacuum line has not disintegrated:
With no vacuum the HVAC system defaults to Defrost mode of air routing.

Loud squealing when idling and driving
heya, im trying to get some answers on a few things. i have a 1993 ford bronco xlt 5.0. when it starts and i drive it, it makes a squealing noise, i look under and i could have sworn the harmonic balacner is moving. but ive heard from other people it could be the water pump, idk how to tell what it is. when it idles low and sounds like its gonna die there squealing is in the same rhythm as the crank is moving.
