Popped in Bell Ford just a lil bit ago and test drove a '15 Lariat Ecoboost......honestly it was a very nice truck but I wouldn't say I was blown away by it, although it was my first time driving an ecoboost (that was impressive.....but also expected )......will be going back to drive a 5.0 as they only had two '15s and they were both v6s
Went with my grandfather in law today to look at some 15's. Very impressed by the layout and color schemes of the KR interior. They looked awesome. The Platinum interior was kind of "blah". Lots of bells and whistles. $61k for the KR and $60k for the Platinum. Yikes.
Probably would've enjoyed the test drive more if salesperson wasn't so talkative.....don't get me wrong when I said I wasn't blown away I in no way meant the truck wasn't awesome it surely was.....but perhaps driving a relatively new truck myself the past year or so I had the bar in my mind set to high......simply comparing it to mine however it just felt like a different new truck.....not better (even though it is) or worse....just different or moreover just newer......and for me the newness is a considerable factor
Yeah I need a redo on my test drive the salesperson while a nice guy was obviously more into selling me a truck then helping me assess the truck (which I don't blame him).......pretty much on my next looky loo I'll have to have some quality alone time with the truck

Makes me appreciate my dealer who tossed me the keys and said "see you later".

Yeah that's what I'll be looking for next time, I don't even need alone time driving as much as just sitting in it, walking around it poking, prodding etc.....speaking of poking I did notice that while the bed makes a metal sound when I hit it with my knuckle the cab and front end almost sounds like fiberglass
I went to a pre release test drive about a month ago and had an opportunity to drive King Ranch 3.5 EB and a 2.7 XLT both 4x4s. I have a 2011 XLT 5.0. The 3.5 felt quicker than the older steel model and rode smoother than any Ford truck that I had ever driven. When I inquired about the ride I was told that in order to handle the lower weight without cargo or tow and take advantage of the increased cargo and towing capacities Ford redesigned the suspensions. I hadn't heard this but it surely drove smother and handled lighter and quicker. What REALLY surprised me was the 2.7. It felt as responsive and as powerful as my 5.0. The aluminum body panel feel a lot more durable to impacts and dings than the old high strength steel ones. The Ford factory reps got nervous about me banging on the fender and hood I am definitely impressed and would buy one but might wait for the 10 speed.
