Replaced my bad ICP sensor yesterday, which cured my problem of ScanGauge saying I had no ICP voltage and that my IPR at warm idle was 32. Now both of those are normal.
However, when I first tried to start it, it cranked a long time without starting. Recycled and again, no start but it slightly tried a couple of times. Recycled again, and after a longer than normal crank, it fired right up and then started normally the rest of the day. I chalked it up to air getting in the oil rail when the sensor was removed.
But, Day 2, it just did the same thing. What could that mean? About to hit the road again and wondering if I should be worried that it will not start out there.
I had something similar this month. Had a long, long crank one day (engine cold) but then everything OK. Next day it just didn't want to start after a 50 mile drive. Several 30 sec cranks but no joy. After 1 hr tried again and it fired straight up. That was over 1000 miles ago and it hasn't happened since - whether 3 miles to the horse or 200 on the freeway.
Every time I turn the key there's that thought - will it start? Not a good feeling, and I do let it idle more instead of switching off straight away. Wife drives just like before and she has no problems either. Hope you have it all sorted now
