1996 F-250 7.3 Turbo
OK, So I need some help from the great minds on here. I bought a 7.3 turbo F-250 and it runs great other than every once and a while it will stumble. I say stumble but it is more like if you pumped the throttle really quick, sometimes it will stall while idle. When I first noticed it it was once and a while but it seems like it might be getting worse. I did notice that one of the connectors that connect to the driverside valve cover is a little burnt. I cleaned it up but no change. I really need some help, I also have taken it to have the codes read because when it jumps the engine light comes on but no code is stored.
Thanks

I would take care of the valve cover gaskets first, if there burnt you really don't know what your dealing with, but it sounds more like air in the system or maybe lack of fuel. How much fuel do you have in the tank? Did you fill it up and see what happens, the orings often go bad in the filter bowl, the ULSD eats away at the o-rings and you either have a leak or suck air. the new sets they sell are made of differant material and can hold up to the newer fuel, it's an easy job to do, If it is air or lack of fuel it wont set a code, like a CPS or ICP, as far as the computer knows everything is normal. My 2 cents, I know cause it happened to me. I think strictly diesel has the o-ring kit. Good luck
