Neet Injector Trick

I had a little time to think on this. What I came up with
is the design of the punch that you use.

The fat dimond
type point is too fat to get a good shot at bending the ring.
If you look at the PDF. The Snap-On PPC714B is long and slender.
http://alliantpower.com/sites/allian...01-08r1_en.pdf

PPC714B, Punch, Center, Long, 5/32" point, 14"
Ebay has the best price on this.

Anyway I got this done tonight.

The 2 things that helped was a small fine flat blade screwdriver
and a mechanics pick. Little bit of work and PING! Ring on the floor
and the other part came right out.

This one tool a bit of work but now that I have one out I think
I can do it faster and with less mess.

That's a big price for a center punch. What's the standard tool and how much does it cost?

I know on the price for that punch. Crazy!
But I tried the cheep standard one and you
just can't get the right angle on the ring to hit it.
I looked on Ebay and the best I could find was $25.

Snap on costs but you get what you pay for.
Thanks for the great info!
I hate fighting those in and out. You did post a little late though, I had to do a full set this morning and it sucked.

OOPS, So Sorry about that.
My back has been being a PITA and I was up late.
Dr said to keep moving it will get worse.

So I was up late last night and it came to me.
I went out and messed with it. Then BINGO. Ring on floor.

Next time I'll try to come up with answers before the question.

Sure do. I had nothing to do so that is why I did it. Core part so
not like I was killing a good injector.

I don't have the right barrel hold down tool.
It was only a $80.00 core that I got lucky on
Ebay. Someone listed it wrong so I got it cheap.

I'm always afraid of damaging one going back in.

With snap rings the going back in part the only
thing you really need to watch for is "Flying Snap Rings"
They can and do hide after bouncing from your face.
Put on the glasses to keep from finding it in you eye.

I have an idea for a tools for the type of project and
will sit down and tinker with the idea.
