Code P20E8

Hi Crystal,

While still under the extended warranty at 104,000 miles, I got an error code P20BA and that wasn't taken car of directly. What did get done was an Ignition Firmware Update. That took care of the engine light coming on for the P20BA.

For other reasons I've switched to another dealership. It's at 115,000 miles now and the warranty is over. With the recent 2 P20E8 error codes, the 2nd was listed as Permanent. I erased error codes P20E8, the engine light went off and for about 50 miles, it hasn't come back on yet. The Permanent one is still there, but the engine light doesn't come on for it. Tomorrow, I'll be driving about 165 miles and I'll be watching to see if it comes on again.

I'll contact the dealer Wednesday to report the P20E8 and remind them of the P20BA.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Sure thing, 2011 Ska Tatanka! Come back and let us know if the light comes back on. I'll keep an eye on this thread in case you need me to step in and assist.

Best thing to do is to speak with a service advisor at the service dept.

Have them look the part up. It's warranty coverage will be seen at that time. Then they can tell you if it will cost and how much or if it is warrantied. That would be of no cost for that inquiry.

I need some advice. My truck (2011 F350) has thrown a P20E8 code for the past month. The reductant pump was replaced - lasted 500 miles before same code was thrown. The dealership did me right and said the first diagnosis very well could have been wrong after finding a bad reductant injector pump. That was replaced at no cost. 20 miles into my trip home, the same code pops up. In each case, the CEL is outlined in yellow (I was told there are different types of CELs).

I have a trip scheduled for Sunday. Will this issue - "Reductant pressure too low" - lead me to limp mode? That is my biggest worry. The truck will be back at the dealership on Wednesday, but can I trust it to make it 300 miles round trip pulling my 5'er?

Trying to resurrect this thread

I'm not sure if Ford is still watching, hope so. I have this problem as well. I initially had a reductant heater failure, replaced with aftermarket ( Mistake?). Then I got the P20E8 code a couple weeks later, and replaced the pump with OEM (primed it, o-rings etc were proper. 1 day later got the code again. I blamed it on the aftermarket heater, so I put in OEM DEF heater, and the short wire harness that attaches to it for good measure. Primed the pump again, new o-rings, got about 3 hours out of it before the P20E8 came back. I would love to have the PID for the pressure to monitor it. It would help to know if I have 0 to little pressure, close to proper pressure etc. I have an OEM DEF injector to put on tonight. I hate throwing parts at it, but can't get data from the truck, and can't get an appointment for several days.

Anyone get theirs figure out and just not report back? I have a 2014 F250 4x4 6.7L Powerstroke

P20E8 code

I just had the the customer satisfaction 18M01 performed on my truck by the dealer and now I keep getting a P20E8 code? Maybe a line got pinched or something on the replacement? Anyone have any thoughts? I will have to call the dealership on Monday....
