97 4.6 Rough Idle

97 4.6 Rough Idle
Im working on a 97 4.6 with 146k for a friend. It idles rough and seems to lack power (then again a 4.6 lacks power 
)
Has New
plugs
wires
coil packs
fuel filter
sea foam intake
sea foam fuel
have checked
proper egr function
vacuum leaks
cleaned IAC
steady 17-18 in vac
clean air filter
cats do not seem to be getting too hot.
no codes
KOEO test ok
KOER test ok
The plugs helped some.
Thoughts .... dirty MAF, clogged cats??

Hello,
I had the same issues on my 03 5.4l. Based on everything you already did, I would get a can of Mass Air Sensor Cleaner, and clean it out on the bench, and let it air dry 100% before reconnecting harness and re-installing. Also remove the throttle body and get in there and really clean it out well.
If that doesnt work. Go back and confirm you dont have a vacuum leak or intake manifold leak. If you have access to a smoke machine it makes it real easy to check, if you dont, I'm sure a shop can smoke it for under 50 bucks for you.

Figured it out, no compression on #7, this makes the 4th trition garbage with no compression on a cylinder.
3 5.4's 1 original, and 2 from a "junkyard" and then this 4.6 in another truck my friend has bought. Now I think we will rebuild the original 5.4 on the 98 F150
Bought the other truck for $800, sold it for $1000 to someone who is going to rebuild it. So no real loss on the 4.6 97 F150
That being said should I be worried about my 03 with the 5.4, I had another 03 5.4 in a box truck and had 200k+ with not one issue other than a few tune ups and an alternator I hope my 03 F150 will be like the old box truck
