Carburetor

I know this subject might have been covered but I using the search didn't give me many results. Have a 383 Stroker in my 49 F1 and trying to decide on a carb. Wanted to go with a Edelbrock 750 with electric chock in the Thunder series but they only have manual chock. Was advised to go with Holley 750 but have heard of leaking issues with them. Was wondering what others have on their trucks and any advice you could share. Thanks!!!

Guess it depends on how your'e going to use the truck. Do you really need the Edelbrock 750? I am running the Edelbrock 650 and for daily street use it's great.

carb

a 650 is plenty for the street, unless you have a killer cam and heads you wont need anymore than 650cfm, I run holley,s in all my cars, and if they set along time the float will stick, but if you start the engine every couple weeks you wont have any trouble with them, I am running a 750 holly on a 383 w in a lightning I have but its a roller engine with a killer cam and heads on it, George.

also I would run a vacuum secondary carb if you go with a holley for the street.
