Now that Christmas came and gone, did your truck make it to the gift list ?

My ol' lady hooked it up. Got and already installed for ur, the zf6-650 dash and pyro for the pass side. (would post pic but still tryn to figure it out after 4+yrs..lol). Got 5 gauges stuffed in ur, just need a Carlisle switch for the one void opening.

jgilrfr - I'm guessing the dog ate part of your post, my friend. I couldn't get where you you were trying to guide us with that.

Tired... yes. If one reads that under a different context, it could be construed as ****.

Motorbug had just received the brand new set of batts from interstate... what like a week ago?

Christmass morning... I leave the truck at at parents in laws' place to go do the family thing at the chosen house and all is festive.

We get done there and the gals have planned to make a few bottles of rotten grapes vanish, and go through 60 years of family pictures... the Great Sorting... of sorts...

Being learn-ed, and wise for our years... the men folk made ourselves scarce.
We drove(the Wierdo and I) seperate vehicles, so she could stat and do the pictures thing... and I could get back to Victoria and be somewhat productive on the progress that needs progression...

Touchofgrey and I get back to their place and drops a gift on me before I head back home that I really did not expect.

So that got kind of emotional.
Its something special to have you paw-in-law accept you.

So I get my new toys packed up and securely loaded up in the passenger seat... shake hands with Chuck and im ready to roll!

*reir... reeeir* *click click clicliclick* *MoTHeR-F***eR!*

Chuck didnt even ask... just scooted inside, grabbed batt charger, stenchin cord, load tester, and cables and headed back out...

Tried to jump it first...
That wasnt even going to happen.

Next we tried charging the full system for a while...
Also a no-go.

Pulled the batts completely loose and charged individually for about half hour each on 50amp...
Nuthin.

Hmmmm
"Lets just see what the load tester says..."

It said both my brand new batts were toast.

My head just about exploded.
Too damn much to deal with on this particular day. And dang sure nobody was going to be open to get whatever I needed to get back on the road.... i mean... the only dang day of the year Wall Mart is closed I gotta deal with this ISH...

Chuck had some batts sitting in his box truck... so we figured we would see if one or 2 were worth a try...

Sure enough there was a monster size commercial 950cca that tested good!

Put it on the charger for a while and talked a bit more about the plan for what he gave me before I tried to leave... then stuck the monster batt in the passengers side well and gave it a go.

Truck started without a hiccup on that batt alone...

Hmmm...

Disconnected to stixk my interstates back in... died...

!Eureeka!!

Freakin alternator!

So... now we know why... now how to come up with an alternator on Chri.... oh wait... hey Chuck!

He still has Motorbug's twin sitting in the driveway.
Guess who yanked the alternator off it and swapped it out fer da dead one on my truck lol.

He let me take the alt, the big batt, and his home made 2nd batt charge wire that runs from charge terminal on alt to pos post on drivers side batt. I said what the heck it cant hurt...

All in all... quality time was spent with my truck, my paw-in-law, and his truck...
I got greasy... it was a good day!

Merry Christmass, Happy New Year everbody!

And... no...
I can not build complete lowers for anybody yet.
I can sell you an 80% lower, fixture it, load it in the machine... rent you machine time...and have you hit the go button. So if anybody wants to come visit me in Victoria and "see the shop" just send me a pm.

Merry Christmas!
It's all about family!
Looks like dad-in-law's gots some big shoes for you to fill.
And is letting you know that you are filling them well.
So is that a homemade receiver for an AR?

It is a cast 80% lower in a jig fixture.
It securely holds an unfinished lower in a vise and serves as a guide for material removal.
In my case... it will serve as touch off tooling to write a program on the big mill. My hope is to get a program working to complete a lower in 1 setup. I will build a vise mount for the a-axis(indexing head) to mount the jig, so i can mill out the trigger group pocket, then just index 90* to do the completion drilling.

This setup is for the ar15,m4,m16 platforms.

As soon as my setup is working for this jig... im also getting the jig set for ar10,lr308 lowers.

I dont want to get any more specific here... I have already hijacked Tim's thread enough lol.

Anybody can feel free to msg me if you have any questions.
