How difficult is it to do a turbo back straight pipe kit 4inches and about how long does it take I did a couple on my 7.3s and were fairly easy but haven't did one on a 6,0 yet my truck is a 06

If the kit has a 3.5" down pipe, a couple of hours. I've heard that a 4" down requires additional bad language, liquid refreshments, and a hammer...
IIRC, the stock DP is 3", and from the cat back is 3.5".
You will either be persuading (with a hammer) the firewall as mentioned or the pipe. Not worth the effort IMO. The MBRP 4" TB system I bought came with the 3.5 DP. I don't remember there being an option to get a 4" instead...
I bought magnaflow 4" turbo back system with muffler and car delete. I haven't installed it yet. Was actually going to this weekend, but been pretty lazy so will get to it in the next few weeks. I think my down pipe is 4" but now I'm not sure. I have heard it is a pain, but doable. I just want to keep EGT's down while towing 12k fifth wheel.
I just looked and my down pipe is 4". whoo hoo!! sounds like fun. There is a flat spot on part of the down pipe. Maybe it was put there to help, I don't know. I knew the down pipe was going to be the biggest problem by far, especially doing it on the ground and by myself. I will get the wife or one of the kids to help with that part though.
What part of the firewall needs to be massaged? What part to avoid?

The PO of my brothers truck installed a 4" Magnaflow system, it actually has the 4" DP. So yours very well could be as well. They chose to hammer on the pipe instead of the FW.
Im of the school of thought that if you have a 3.5" downpipe, you might as well have 3.5" all the way. Not true? Seems like a bottle neck is a bottle neck. How can 4" out the back flow more than the 3.5" down pipe?

Not true. You are forgetting that exhaust velocity changes as you get further from the turbo.
