I am putting a 302 HO cam in my bronco and am wondering if i should use the bronco oem injectors or the 302 HO injectors. I am still using the stock bronco lower and upper intake.
1991 Bronco 302 Nite Edition
Thanks...
What color are the ones you have in your bronco? If they're orange (19lbs) then those are also the stock injectors in the HO motor. You can upgrade to 24lb injectors (blue top) if ya'd like, but there's no need, at least until you do more mods to the intake (air coming in).
If they're the gray top injectors, those are only 14lbs, and then I would upgrade.
"fiveomotorsports.com" they have some good prices on injectors for many different applications.I have the mustang injectors in my cherokee with no complaints on quality and shipped to my house in 2 days. You can email or call them and they will answer your question about injectors.
OK i have a small question i do not know alot about the fuel injection i hate it !! but if the cam is a 302 HO that means it is a 351w firing order for one and second swapping cams in a "speed density "system ......will the stock computer be able to keep up with the new timing vavle timing . i am not sure about this but if it was me i would check....
i have a 89 mustang roller motor in my 1990 F150, i used the 351 injectors , they are the 19 pound ones but have a different spray nossle (sp) at the end, also using the mustang shorty headers and no cats , i also have the GT40 valve train with the drop in roller rocker kit, it idles great and pulls all the way to 5500 RPM's , but i do believe the SD system is holding it back a little , but its good enough for me.
You will need to switch to a mass air type system for this to work correctly. If not, it will run so rich at idle it will make your eyes sting. The speed density computer cannot keep up because it does not monitor the amount of air actually coming into the motor.
I did a cam swap in my old 86 Mustang. It would run good under WOT but idle was horrible. The computer is particularly intolerant to cam swaps.
Injecters in my Explorer 5.0 are tan/ beige in color but are supposed to be 19s. Blades inside connectors look smaller than the orange '91 150 19lb injectors. Any idea what they are?
