Not true. Most HX40's came on 8.3 liter Cummins - another 60-ish cubic inches over the 7.3.

I can only imagine that was in reference to the hx35, which according to holset is suitable for use on 4-5 liter engines.

I assumed 40s were used on 8.3s, but ive only seen the H1E on them.

The HX40w is found on the 8.3 Cummins in a lot of Motor Homes in the Industry...
With power ratings of 300 to 350 Crank HP. I put a few Banks upgrades on them changing the Hot sides from T4 18cm2's to T417cm2 housings and it uses a 25psi Waste Gate assembly instead of the standard 20psi unit for quicker spool and more boost. The trade off is higher EGT's as long a you have a good Intercooler its a nice upgrade.

H1C = HX35 with retarded housings. In all honesty, probably a little more flow on the compressor side, but i wouldnt call it an "upgrade". Certainly not worth swapping out the garret, but if piecing together a budget kit.. wouldnt be bad.
