1979 F100 Ranger Lariat RWD: can this be lifted with stock suspension?

I would like to lift the truck 2 or 3 inches, not much. I was told today that this will cause camber issues and I will need someone to bend the I beams because camber is not adjustable on these trucks.

Is this accurate? I cannot find lift kits specific to this truck in 2WD. Any help is appreciated.

either bend the I beams, or make a set of drop brackets to lower the I beams.

Wow, sounds like a lot of work. Now I wish I had bought a 1980.

Drop brackets sounds easier, but the word "make" is scary. Why didnt you use the word "buy?" Also, this also means a weaker suspension system, right?

no matter the year, if you want to lift a 2 wheel with TTB front suspension, you are either going to have to bend the beams, or make drop brackets.
it is the same principle as a 4 wheel drive lift.
center drop bracket, and possible radius arm drop brackets.
the only real difference is the location of the center brackets. on a 4 wheel drive both sides mount in the middle of the truck.
on a 2 wheel setup, the mount on either side farther away from each other.

autofab makes a 3 inch kit for the 2wheel drive: 65-79 F100/150 2wd Truck 3 inch lift

Thanks for the help. I found a place that sells a bent kit. $900 to raise it 3". Does that sound reasonable?

that is the same price as the autofab kit.
remember, you will have to raise the rear the same amount as the front to get the front end alignment proper.

I wanted it all level, but I didn't know that. Thank you.

Ok, so a friend has a race shop where he makes frames. He will probably help me if I ask him, but I want to know what I am asking him to do first. Is there any kind of instructions online I can point to to show him what I need done?

Is it safer to move the brackets or bend the I beams? Being new to these trucks, I am unfamiliar with the brackets or how they need to be moved (where they need to be relocated).

the brackets do not get moved, they are made longer/extended. if they are currently 3 inches off the frame, you would make they around 6 inches long for a 3 inch lift.

this is for a 4X4 though. i have never seen a lifted 2 wheel, so i am just going by what needs to be done for a 4 wheel.
