No, but Ford should build a Bronco again.

It is a little late for me. I ordered a new Jeep Wrangler last week. It will be the first time in 37 years I did not buy a Ford. I looked at the f150 but could not get a regular cab short bed V8 or Ecoboost engine without taking bucket seats and all of the goofy striping in the package. I also looked at the 2015 Mustang but could not get the V6 engine with the additional options I wanted. If I am happy with the Wrangle, I may never look to Ford again unless they change their ways. By the way, I am a Ford retiree.

Yes, Ford does need a dog in that fight. However, IMHO this is what Ford will do wrong: They will build some upscale overpriced POS and make it way too heavy. An F-150 based vehicle in not the answer.

I disagree with this in general, I have no idea why Ford has differentiated there trucks and SUVs so much. I get making the F150 and superduty different. But with the advantages of the F150 being a lighter model that makes it an even better platform for an SUV, why they haven't baffles me.

However it's not the vehicle for the nitch in this thread, for that the answer is already there. An Explorer Rapter, take the explorer, and make an off road version.

I'll take the 2 door Jeep Wrangler. Anything based on the F150 is way too big for my taste. I have owned 3 Explorers in the past and consider the new version way too big and bloated.
