Windsor swap.

Will the windsor block and heads out of a 1996 replace my blown block and worn out heads from my 1990? The auto wrecker says it's just a matter of switching over the intake and electronics. But before I drop some money on his motor I want to know for sure it will all work out.

Block and heads is considered a long block BTW.. a complete block without heads is called a short block.

And yes you can bolt a '96 longblock into your '90, you will have to use the complete intake system and all wiring from your '90, and you will need to put the '96 distributor drive gear on your '90 distributor because the later motor has a steel roller cam in it and that needs a steel distributor gear.. the cast iron gear on your '90 would just get chewed up and the motor will seize, and you can't just use the '96 distributor because the later trucks used a remote TFI module setup so the distributor wiring is different.
