VetNetA forum dedicated to ALL Veterans... their unique needs and wants. A place where Veterans old and new can discuss their problems and find the help and support they are looking for.
I think it's time for a dedicated sub-forum for our Veterans. Dutch (Graywolf) has done a great job with VetNet and I would like to take it a step further.
VetNet has a couple drawbacks that could be made better with a separate forum. Such as: Multiple threads that can help Vets find the help they need that is unlike the needs of regular non-vet members. A dedicated forum that will not disappear to a back page like VetNet. Someplace that Vet's looking for help on the web. A place for us to interact and talk about the things unique to Veterans. Like the fact that 22 Vets commit suicide every day of the week and what we can do to help reduce that number. We have lost more Vets to suicide in the last year, than all those killed in the line of duty in the last ten years...
I would be more than willing to Mod the new forum and will strive to help all Veterans and those presently on duty.
I think it will work good Jim. Especially because there is a ton of "older" members that are Vets, that can help those just getting out of service. They need all the help we can give them.
Would it be just Gold club. Club, or for any Vet?
Like non supporters?
I hope it don't go down like the ATP thread is.
Just sayin. And yes anything to help the Vets
and active service people is a great thing for sure.
I never realized the suicide rate was so high Don.
That ain't right. It needs to be the first thing addressed.

It would be a sub-forum of GNAC and open to all for free. It would also show up on a google search and could reach non-member veterans looking for help.
Thanks for the support guys. This is something I feel very passionately about, and want this to be a success.
I already have Admin support for this. I talked with Tim personally about it. I just want to make sure that others feel the same way I do and will be on board with the new sub-forum.
Some things just take time. The time for this is now. We have ten's of thousands of troops coming home that will need all our help. I'm dedicated to see this through and make the Vet Forum THE place to go for help for all Veterans.
