1. Is my truck posessed? I'll be driving down the road and have the windshield wipers off and out of nowhere they will turn on and then off. Now i can go for weeks and nothing happens and then out of nowhere it will start agian. Anyone have any ideas??
2. On my truck i have the feature that allows you to adjust your side view mirrors and it worked for the first two months that i had the truck and now it will only let me move the divers side up and down, and on the passenger side it does not work at all.... What could the problem be?
1. Probably not. Pull the cap off the end of the turn signal, take the wiper switch apart, & clean it. If it gets worse, replace the whole MultiFunction Switch (MFS). If it has no effect, test/replace the Wiper Control Module (WCM) somewhere inside the dash, probably behind the glove box.
2. Probably the mirror switch. It's easy to pop out of the door panel & test/replace.
I too have had problems with irratic wiper function in my 1997 Expedition and went to clean the contacts after reading up on this on this forum and elsewhere. However, I can't even start with removal of the cap of the stalk because mine appears to be a bit different. Rather than a cap on the end, mine is recessed. This creates a button within the cylinder that one depressed to activate the washer pump and the ribbed cylinder therefore does not move. Anyone know how to start the disassebly on this one?
