Ok on my truck my drivers side windshield wiper has work with no problems. but my passenger side hasnt since ive had the truck since march. I really never bothered with fixing it cuz i thought it was a wiper motor. WRONG!!! Stupid me forget there is only one wiper motor that powers both. Well that still left me with the problem of the passenger side wiper not working. Well this morning when i was going out to clear the 6 inches of snow off my truck i look down in the cowl and moved the wiper and its not hooked up to the rod from the drivers side. Because of that it moves freely. Well to my question...
?1... How do i get the cowl off?
?2... then what do i have to do to get the rod reconnected. any screws and etc????
The cowl comes off really easily its only a few screws that attach it to the truck. I beleive the rod is just screwed into place. Shouldnt be a very hard fix just take the cowl off and you should be able to get to it real easy.
ok thought so. It felt hard to pull off cuz the ice but ok. are you sure i wont have to take the the wipers blade extension off. or the antenna how should i go bout taking it off other than unscrewing the whip.
The rod is actually held on with a small clip. You have to push the rod over the stud and then slide a small thin clip over the stud to hold it in place IIRC.
ok im out working on my wiper rod as we speak ive got the cowl almost off. The only thing holding me back is the wiper extension i cant figure out how to get it off. i see 2 screws but i dont have anything small enough to get in there that will unscrew them. HELP PLEASE!!!!
Not sure what you mean by "wiper extension" but if you pull your wiper arms all the way up, there is a little spring loaded tab that you have to release with a screw driver right next to the post where they attach.
Then wiggle them off the splined shaft. Some times they don't come off so easy but they should just pull straight off if the tab is released.
They won't come off unless you pull the arms to about 90 degrees to the windshield.
ok i was looking on autozone. and they explained what needed to be done and i have done this. but its not coming off very easily. so i will do like you said and pull the arms from the windshield bout 90 degrees.
ok thanks everyone for the help. i got it working i just dont have the clip but when i put the rod on to the little bushing i heard it click so im gonna see how long it will stay. if it dont i will get the connector clip. thanks to everyone ones help so much.
Oh also, I was wondering what you would call the you know the like weather strip that is screwed to the cowl? mine is in bad condition and lets water in and sit on the air cleaner cover. Any body know if autozone carries them??????

E7TZ1502824A .. Cowl Seal / Still available from Ford.
Fits: 1980/96 F100/350, F(Super Duty) & Bronco.
MSRP: $39.68 / FTEpartsguy.com price: $28.57
I doubt you will find this cowl seal new at anywhere other than a Ford dealer.
If lmc or anyone else carries it...since it's still available from Ford, guess where they are buying it from? A local dealer is the answer.
You can buy it from FTE sponsor: FTEpartsguy.com (PARR FORD in Bremerton WA), for the same price the aftermarket suppliers are paying.
btw: No dealer in TN has it, so it'll have to be ordered.
Shouldn't take but a day or two to get it. The Atlanta Ford Parts Depot (warehouse) has 11, the Greensboro NC Depot has 9.
