dipstick reading
I just finished putting the 5.4 gas engine back together in my wife's 2005 F250 after replacing the right head and all the timing gear. Don't ask. Anyhow, before I tore it down I drained all the oil and replaced the filter. After I put it back together I poured in 6 litres of oil, as per the book. But when I read the dipstick it shows the oil level as being very high - maybe three inches above the full mark. I've checked it several times, with the engine stone cold, and get the same results. The dipstick tube was not removed in the rebuild. What's going on here?
