boost problems

truck use to push around 27psi of boost when i got the truck about a year ago. now when truck gets to around 22pis if starts to fall to around 15. been thinking about taking the turbo off and cleaning it and even putting a wicked wheel in it. are the any other sensors i can check and clean before i jump straight to the turbo?

Check the MAP sensor hose and nipple at the intake, the MAP sensor is located just above the evaporator housing on the passenger side and is connected to the passenger side of the intake manifold via a rubber hose, pull the hose and check for obstructions and cracks and make sure the brass nipple on the intake isn't plugged.
Next check the EBP sensor, depending on the year it will be located either on a stud next to the thermostat housing or just below the FICM and is attached to the drives side exhaust manifold via a steel tube, remove the sensor and pass a piece of stiff weedwhacker line through the tube and into the exhaust manifold to ensure that the tube is clear.
If your truck has the EGR throttle body you can remove the EGR throttle body and remove the throttle plate then reinstall the throttle body as the plate is unnecessary and can cause boost issues, the throttle body is located where the air enters the intake manifold.

You also need to check your charge air cooler piping and clamps. This sounds like you have a split in a pipe or a loose connection which let's off the high boost, a leak, as opposed to a sensor issue or boost problem at the turbo. Just for testing, you may also wish to check and clean map sensor, Baro, IAT2, MAF and IAT1, while you your checking tubes for MAP and EBP. I would also get some way of reading these sensors as a bad one can be a problem. Finally, do you have an epintact EGR, and can you clean it and do a relearn for the EGR and verify it is working?

ok well i just checked the MAP tube and nipple and cleaned them out. they went to dirty. cleaned the EBP which seemed to be pretty dirty as did the steel line going to it. I'm gonna clean the other sensors y'all listed too. also i did put a new erg valve on the truck about 3 months ago.

Battery disconnect with headlights on, about 20 minutes, wait 20 minutes, before reconnecting batteries. then, key on for 20 seconds, then off for 30 seconds, then again, then again, but proceed to start amd let idle for about 20 minutes to relearn.
