I was thinking of adding mud flaps on my truck and was curious if anybody puts them on just the front and not the rear? Not a big fan of the looks on the rear wheels mud flaps. Thx
makes two of us, I am in the process of which ones to buy, but I just want to do the front with all the snow/slush that gets built up with the running boards. don't really care how it looks as long as it works
The dealer put moulded mud flaps on my truck. They are ugly and barely provide any protection. I keep telling my self I will swap them out for a nice rubber set.
I have Husky brand molded guards i added front/rear. For me and i don't know why but it looks okay if they are only on the rear, but if they are only on the front it looks funny and half done..like something is missing.
I just finished installing front and rear on mine. I really like both.
I went with the Weathertech Brand. No drilling, and basically an easy install, except for the bottom nut in the rear. At 77 , my old arms don't twist the way the used to.
I bought mine on Ebay, from Weathertech, and had them in about 3 days. $ 80.00
Ford's @ Dealer are $80.00 per axle.

I went with the Weathertech's as well. Nice fit, and I also have the wheel well liners too. Keep the road crap from getting up inside the fenders.
I installed FORD brand mudflaps on my 2014 Platinum. They fit well, were easy to install and look good on the Truck imo. I also was concerned if they would work with the factory power deployable running boards that came on the truck. No issues.
On my Lariat is the rear wheel well liner and Ford front and rear mud flaps...they work very well and I would hate to see what it would be like without them in 10 years. I live in the Chicago area where they use salt like some of us drink our favorite beer.

Reason: add to
I put front only mud flaps on my 2013 STX 4x4 Super Cab 5.0 for the same reason; not only the snow in the winter, but i go camping up a super muddy, steep mountain road. The mud would get all over everything (running board, door handle, mirror, me as i tried to get in/out). I got Ford's Heavy Duty set; they look great, were $75; but worth every cent. They work great, were easy to install myself and keep things tidy. The Ford part number is CL3Z*16A550*C
I bought weathertech. Awesome fit n look good. Even on all 4 wheels. $80 No drilling. I have had them in deep snow also forward n backward they are tuff. Seams match perfect also! Almost hub deep snow!
