You have to drill a hole in the rubber fender liner only; you also remove a screw from the trim by the bottom of the fender and use that as part of the attachment points. They are very sturdy in both heavy snow and with a lot of mud. I would recommend them for sure!
I'm not a mud flap fan. I was going to get duraflaps, but after reading how they are stiff I changed my mind. I emailed them, and they said for and extra $20 they could come in rubber. I ended up finding g some universial ones at schucks, suprisingly made in America. I don't really notice them, but I love how the sides are staying so much cleaner and the sounds of rocks hitting them instead of the paint. Also, they were only $20
My wifey bought the Weathertech rear mud flaps for me for Christmas and I have yet to get the fronts but will soon. Looking forward to seeing them on the truck.
