You sir are a brave man. I wouldn't even try, its far easer to spen the 4 hours to just pull the engine.

And how can you be sure to remove all the hone grit?

Myself would drop it in a clean solvent bath after removing
all the gallery plugs. The brush,flush,brush and a final flush
with clean filtered solvent.

But that's me. Also I would think about a new set of lifters
and the shorter push rods. (Yes I know more$$)
