the piece of metal between the front bumper and the core support, and are they difficult to replace? my front bumper is all twisted up from previous owner trying to push someone off a tree stump he then got mad at his wife and threw a boat oar through the sliding rear window and it continued through to the front windsheild he then took the fancy tires off the truck and gave it to me if i could get it moving so i put some maypop bald eagle tires on it and drained 5 gallons of water from the cracked tank and put in 5 or six quarts of tranny fluid in it and drove it home then about a month later i changed the tranny because the clutch pack are just heavy paper and they don't like water and boy are those trannys heavy next time i will use a tranny jack sorry for the ramble but if someone could answer my original question that would be nice.
It's the stone guard, stone shield, or valance. It bolts through tabs on the core support which are secured via U-nuts clipped on the valance. At each fender, there are three bolts (sometimes fewer) by U-nuts, nuts, or a combination thereof.
Soak the bolt threads and U-nuts with a penetrant at least the day before it is planned to be removed... the areas experience lots of road spray and dirt/grit which contribute to corrosion. I snapped off a couple of them on my rig.
Socket, ratchet, extension(s), and box wrench... some rigs have a grounding strap screwed onto the leading edge of the valance with the other eyelet under the bumper bolt nuts.. typically the passenger's side.

What year is your truck? As original, there were TWO different types of these stone deflectors.
