2004 Ranger XLT

I recently purchased this truck (4500 miles). When
Brake released at stop light, car does not move until the accelerator is engaged. Is this usual for an auto transmission

Welcome to FTE.
My 99 5spd auto will creep on level ground at idle, with the brake off. Are you having any problems with the tranny shifting, slipping under load, no, or reduced braking when you down shift into 1st gear???? Is the tranny fluid Hot fill level right & is the condition of the fluid good????

An '04 with 4500 miles on it.... it is likely the original transmission fluid...which is now 10 years old.
I'd change the transmission fluid ASAP.
