Thanks for all the responses guys. I took another good look at the harness, and it really doesn't look that hard if you take it one step at a time. thanks for all the advice. I do have one more question. Where did you guys route the wires from the fuse panel to the rear of the truck? Through the firewall, down and back along the frame?

That is one common way. Another is to lay the wires flat side by side on the cab floor along side or under the door sill cover plate to the rear of the cab then out a hole in the floor at the rear and along the inside of the frame or under the bed to the back. If you lay them on the floor try to route where least likely to get stepped on, cover, secure to the floor and protect with a couple layers of duct tape then cover with carpet or mat. Support and secure the wire bundle about every 12-14" with cushioned hangers to keep them away from hot, sharp, or moving parts.
I tried several times to lay and tape the wires on the floor of the cab and it just didn't work for me plus I didn't like punching a hole in the rear of the cab just for the wires.
I ran mine out through the large stock grommet on the firewall, down and into the frame to get to the rear using several insulated clamps inside frame.
I also put plug-in terminals between the firewall and the right inner fender panel to the wires going to the front to ease removal of the front sheet metal.
Be sure and check out the self-sealing silicone tape I noted in the thread on "wiring harness electrical tape" as it is better than buttered toast!

I used the EZ Mini 20 harness on my 54. Very easy, clean and fun to do. They answered a few questions I had over the phone and all worked out well. I would use that harness again.
I am going to rewire my 49 F1 with a complete wiring harness from Sacramento Vintage Ford. I will be off from work for then next 2 weeks, also converting to 12 volts. I work a regular job as a dietitian so will this be my first rewire, Absolutely!!
I plan on starting a separate thread detailing my adventure and to ask for HELP!
Will let you know how it goes with this type of harness!
