Quick and EASY EGR sensor question

I just need to know if these crossing hoses look correct. My EGR sensor was so brittle, both hoses basically fell off.

I don't remember them crossing like that, but I wasn't paying attention to that area at the time it happened.
Will it mess it up if they are on wrong?
The reason they are crossed now, is because 1 hose inlet was slightly bigger than the other.

Thank you

I should point out

Just in case any of these are different.
These have "REF" on the left and "Hi" on the right
