My '70 does not have an oil pressure gauge or an ammeter. I just picked up another cluster at the junk yard that has those gauges. Are these trucks pre wired so that either cluster will work? It would be nice to have the additional gauges just for fun.

Thanks Number Dummy.....I needed the info also. How you been?
I need to replace my speedo head and clean it to see gauges better in the 71. Hate to tell a cop....sorry officer couldn't see the speedo....lol
I made that mistake, and had to go on the hunt for the harness after I had a good cluster. I finally have the plug with about 8 inches of wiring. I will be swapping in the current wires to the new plug and using the cut wires to wire in the 2 new gauges.
Seems like a lot of work just to have a couple more crappy inaccurate gauges. Why not just step up to an F600 type cluster for custom gauges or just add a couple gauges? I've been adding a voltmeter to my trucks for 30 years. Some under the dash, some mounted in the cluster panel. Ford's ammeters have been junk forever. Even of the 5 new pickups I owned in the 60s-70s, I never saw the needle move more than it's own width either way.
The oil pressure gauges aren't much better. The needle will move but gives you no real idea what the oil pressure is, just that it's higher or lower than normal.
The more I drive my truck, especially at night, the more I am considering making a new cluster with aftermarket gauges. It is awkward and hard to read at night. I love the factory look but need clearer visibility of the gauges.

Yeah, as I age and my eyesight diminishes, I find those guages hard to read at night. I also never liked that the speedo needle obscures part of the odometer as you are driving.
