Well great, it seems another trip to the dealer is inevitable.

Hey, gang!
Don't forget to let me know if you need any help; that's what I'm here for! If you want me to step in and assist, just reach out to me via PM with your info. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.
I just checked my heated steering wheel for the first time today. The padded section is warm in less than a minute and the wooden section takes less than two minutes. Not hot but quite warm to the touch. It'll certainly do the job. What is DLR?
Daytime running lamps, the headlights at a lower level when ever in gear, no driver input required.
It is required in Canada, so all trucks now have the ability, it is a simple program that needs to be activated by the dealer.
Typically saves a little on insurance cause they can see you coming....

Thanks for the offer Crystal - I like to give the dealer service center at least first crack at it. If I run into any issues I will let you know.
I doubt my insurance will give me a discount for having DLRs, but I like having the lights on, If the lights would turn off when I turned the key off I would just leave them in the on position. It takes 5 minutes or so after I leave the truck and I really don't want dead batteries. And knowing that there is a simple IDS reprogram to do it is great. Then I can leave the lights in the AUTO position.
The problem with the auto headlights is that they only turn on in the dark. AK Law says they are supposed to be on 24/7. And it seems like the hours long dusk and dawn are on the fringe of the sensor.
The solution the salesman gave me of putting electric tape over the sensor is a little cheesy - and then you are forever adjusting the brightness of the dash.
Just how hot should the wheel get? I turned mine on tonight for the first time, and I couldn't tell any difference in temperature. Is it supposed to warm it up to a standard temperature, or does it warm to the same as the temp setting for your cab?
Mine heats up quickly and nicely...def something wrong if you cant feel it. I like the feature more than I thought I would originally.
