electric fan advice

I bought an electric fan and a thermostat fan controller today, and I have a couple questions. Which setup is more efficient/more effective, a pusher or a puller? Also where is a good location for the ignition power source? I don't have much wiring experience so excuse my ignorance.

Should be able to get ignition right off the passenger fender. Starter Solenoid, at least on my 90 f250

typically a puller fan is better than a pusher.

This is what I have heard before. Most fans I've seen are set up as pullers

Make sure you have a good fan that can pull allot of air threw the radiator and a quality fan controller and not some cheap piece of junk, I had one that would not engage the fan sometimes due to the contacts refusing to do their thing inside the relay.

Electric fan swap!!!!!! - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans
I shamelessly copied this thread from another forum, it's long but has a lot of good info. Used a Chrysler Sirrus double fan, controller from Advance and 2 relays on my signature ride, works like downtown.

I got the same fan I saw another member use on a different forum. It is made by Hayden and it even says "made in U.S.A" on it so that's a plus, lol

I found that thread, it does have great info. Thanks for sharing it though. I didn't read through it all but where did u wire in your 12v accessory power? I'm a bit confused on where on the solenoid that would be.

If you mean ignition power, I took the fuse block under the hood apart and tapped into fuse u20, it's a red/lt gn wire. Soldered wire onto it and heat shrunk it.

Woops didn't look at vehicle. On a 90 it's still a red/green wire from ignition switch to eec relay. Tap that wire and I would fuse it (10a ?) Just to be safe. Also, use relays like unit505 did in that thread.
