I have a 1987 ford ranger, it has a 2.0L carborated motor and I also have a 1994 ford ranger fuel injected motor I believe it's a 2.3L, I am wondering if the swap will work to put the 94 motor in the 87
if i remeber right, you will need the wiring harness to run the injectors,,and if the carberated motor has a manual fuel pump you will have to install a electric fuel pump or change the fuel tank for one with the fuel pump in it,,,,,, not easy job but i think it is doable.............
I think your best bet would be to pull everything from your '94 donor (if you do have the whole truck) and put it into the '87. The wiring harness, computer, etc. will just be too different going from carbureted to fuel injected, IMHO. Swapping the dash might also alleviate some wiring harness issues. It's common with the Bronco II's to swap in a later model 4.0L and usually includes bringing over the newer dash if going into a 1st gen. for that reason. Also in the 1st gen the harness passes through the firewall while by '94 there was a connector at the firewall, so you will have some minor cutting and patching there. If you have only the engine your work may be significantly more difficult. You may need to bring the newer transmission over too...
It's has evertrying wiring computer and all, the body is gone the dash is broken, basically everything mechanical is still there the dash and cosmetics are trashed
