i was wondering if the alternator off of a 70 or so diesel pickup was a higher ampreage and would it be a bolt on for a 67 f-250 straight six?

Ford never made a diesel pickup in the 70's that I know of. If they did it's going to be pretty rare. If you want a high amperage alternator, type in Ford 3G alternator swap in a google search. Anything earlier than the 90's is going have a fairly small alternator.
