Coolant not circulating?
I have a 99 f350 xlt 4x4 and I just replaced the waterpump and did a coolant change. I dropped the lower radiator hose and drained out everything through there as much as possible my question is that I poured in 4 gallons of concentrate but I only managed to add about one gallon of water and now the water doesnt seem to have circulated at all yet and I have been driving it for about a day and a half now. Temp gauge marks normal and when I squeeze the top radiator hose coolant flows back into the degas bottle from the bottom hose. Degas bottle still marks full from initial fill up. AND If I have the short thermostat instead of long what would happen? Would that cause no flow of coolant?

Additionally, you may be running a 70/30 ratio or higher. Figure you have 4 gallons of concentrate, one gallon of water, and 3 gallons of whatever you had previously. Might want to measure the fluid and see where it's at. While you might get away with a 60/40 ratio in colder areas, I would guess your coolant to water ratio is way too high.
