Well if he assaulted anyone,of course he probably not only deserves to live out his years in prison but he should of been there the day after his first offense. No woman should walk the streets in fear and women should be well respected and honored. No man would get away with anything if I was within hearing distance,I can assure you this.
It just makes you wonder,if he's such a bad dude what took so long to put him away and why did it take doctored audio recordings to do it? Surely if someone has committed so many crimes for so many years, you would think there would be some clear, obvious, distinct, undisputed evidence.Right?
I know I sure wouldn't want to be locked up just because a chick said I rapped her.I'd like to think I would be considered innocent until proven guilty.
I fear of an America where an accusation is an automatic guilty sentence, where perhaps it might not always lead to time behind bars but a ruined life. This should concern us all.
"If he assaulted anyone"...he's admitted to and has been convicted of sexual assault even though he had an experienced...and I presume...expensive defense team. Even the finest defense team $$$$ could buy couldn't convince a jury of 12 of his innocence. Why did it take so long??? Who really knows...you've advanced a theory that the women were after money...only a qualified psychiatrist could answer that. Perhaps...they were just seeking justice. Apparently...the people who count...the jury...believed there was "clear, obvious, distinct, undisputed evidence." Right??? This wasn't just a case brought by one woman...it was actually 3 cases combined into one by agreement of both the prosecution and the defense. They are representative of more than 60 women who were taken advantage of by Cosby when he was a very powerful man in the entertainment industry. This was...apparently...accepted practice in the industry as is exhibited by other recent revelations...IE...Weinstein...Lauer...Spacey...Lo uis C.K....Franco...Hoffman...Tambor...Piven...etc...e tc...etc.
Perhaps you've heard the phrase..."The difference between rape and seduction is salesmanship." Cosby's chosen type of salesmanship included disabling drugs as well as his position of power within the industry. Others apparently just used their positions of power. It's a different world out there.
Maybe he's right where he belongs then Ken and perhaps some women will sleep a bit better now.May all his victims one day find peace.
I'll still take extra caution with encounters and listen to intuition when a lady is giving off mixed vibes lol.I've always been low on trust to begin with,so a bit extra distance isn't gunna hurt my feelings any.
It takes so long because he was a man in power in the industry and the women felt that coming forward would jeopardize their careers. I always cite the example of NHL play Theoren Fleury. Sexually abused for several years by his jr coach, later in life brought a jr team to Calgary and hired that same man to coach. That man still had control over his life at this point. Same **** going on with these women. Sure some might just want to take advantage of the situation but for most of them it is finally done.
A report found 94 per cent of Native American women living in Seattle say they have been raped or coerced into sex at least once in their lifetime. The damning new report – from the Urban Indian Health Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – is believed to be one of the first to examine the experience of native women living in an urban environment instead of on reservations.94 per cent of Native American women say they have been raped or coerced into sex
There is also a wide spread epidemic across the reservations with unsolved murders and missing Native women. You can google for this and read a few news articles for those interested.
The problem is,the lack of police funding, the lack of enough tribal police on their reservation and the lack of trust from outside help (understandably) and how the jurisdiction works between their land and federal. It's a massive mess and families often have no clue where their sisters, mothers, wife's etc went. They're vanishing without a trace and due to how the system is setup and lack of trust from outside help, often families of these women who are raped and murdered go on without any closure whatsoever for their families.
Read a few articles if interested. They're very easy to find.Figured I'd bring some awareness here,as it's on topic for it.
I won't hijack further on the topic. Thanks for your time.

That's why they move off the reservation because there's so much sexual violence within the Indian community. A lot of incest too.

My comment was for those who are interested in reading and learning. Not spewing false information.
If you take a few minutes to read a few articles, you may come to understand violence against native women isn't primarily from within the native communities but by non natives.
That one has to be your most offensive comment to date.Congratulations.I hope you feel so proud of yourself.
One day you and I will pass on from this world. My spirit and yours will meet.I'll be there to embrace you with love and forgiveness. You'll come to know that you and I are the same in the end.
f you take a few minutes to read a few articles, you may come to understand violence against native women isn't primarily from within the native communities but by non natives.
I did read the article and that's not what it says.
Indigenous women's rights advocate Susan Balbas of the Na’ah Illahee Fund said native groups are inclined towards staying quiet surrounding violence against women in the community due to concerns about how outsiders will perceive indigenous groups.
“It’s acknowledging the violence in the community but really developing a critical analysis about what the causes are,” Ms Balbas told the Seattle Times.
“It’s the legacies, the ongoing legacies of colonisation and policies that have affected tribal communities, intentional policies that have hurt and damaged native communities.”
“This will be the first of many discussions that will take place around sexual violence in our community,” Seattle City Councilmember Debora Juarez said in a statement
“We have always known that the rates of sexual violence against native women was high, but it’s going to take others to acknowledge it as well and to do something about it, and that needs to happen now.”
Here's the cliff notes. There's a lot of red on red violence on the reserves, particularly sexual violence. And it's white people's fault because raysum, colonialism, white privilege, "historical trauma", etc, etc....
Unlike women of every other racial group, Native American women are more likely to be sexually assaulted by people who are not Native American. A study by the University of Delaware and the University of North Carolina found that more than two-thirds of sexual assaults against indigenous women are committed by white and other non-Native American people.
Looks like your google was broken so I helped ya out a bit.You can downplay it and pretend it's not real if it helps you sleep better.I however, don't share that luxury. If you don't care for those universities studies, you shouldn't have much trouble finding others.
Many non-native people coming onto the reservation know that law enforcement can’t touch them, she said.
Because there is already a tremendous amount of sexual violence happening on these reserves. And tribal authorities don't cooperate with outside law enforcement. It would expose too many of their own people to prosecution.
Sexual predators know this. They target people who have no one to protect them. It's not that the law protects white predators who rape Indian women. Only an idiot would believe that. It's because the Indians don't want their dirty little secret to get out. So they're prepared to let non-Indian predators go unpunished.
Like most victims of abuse these women run away from their abusers and their enablers only to end up on drugs, working the streets and subject to more violence.
What we learn from this is that Indians are like any other people. Some of them are bad and they hurt one another. And then you blame those problems on other groups of people.
Yeah, how could people ever become so traumatized and broken I wonder? It must of been something bad that went down but I just can't put my finger on it? Hmmm. If only I was capable of putting myself in someone else shoes for a moment, all might become clear.
This ones extremely disturbing.I'm not quoting any of it.Click only if you wish to read.Just prepare yourself.It's pretty heavy.Breaking the link even.You'll have to go out of your way and google the following;

We've already talked about the Indian children who were raped and beaten in the residential schools. And the residual effect this has had on their communities (link). Why do you suddenly act as though that conversation didn't happen?
It's disingenuous of you to accuse me of spreading false information and pretend you are offended when I state a fact we both know to be true.
There is a lot of sexual abuse within some Indian communities. It's not something the chiefs like to talk about because regardless of who is to blame this is a very shameful thing. But you can't change the facts to suit your narrative.
