The energy storage units in households are usually monitored by the operating company via the Internet.
Recently, several blew up, and the operator took the precaution of shutting down all energy storage units for weeks.
The electricity from the solar panels then of course no longer went into my storage, but into their power grid where they sell it at four times the price I get for it.
The balancing payment for the dead energy storage was a laughing stock.

My local station has come down on gasoline, a tiny bit - $4.94......but not a cent on diesel: still $6.29 per gallon. I'm in NH.
I was out of town yesterday and found a 'bargain' on off-road diesel @ $5.69, so I started filling my transfer tank. Pump shut off at $100 on my card, which gave me a whopping 17.5 gallons of red diesel. That's like one fill-up for my tractor.

Regardless of the medium used for heating, a photovoltaic system must be installed on the roof when the heating system is replaced.
The majority of Germans heat with fuel oil or gas.
If you don't have the money (think of the elderly who can't get a loan from the bank), you have to buy "biological" gas as an alternative.
That this is more expensive is self-evident.
My 25000€ contribution to the forced climate improvement:
Diesel fuel is currently more than 50% more expensive than yours.
