Wow!

I just ran the conversion and local price, that would be $361.87 US/California!

Two different conversions gave me 58.461 US Gallons.

There is really no excuse for the high prices. Supply and demand, sure…..but who has been putting up roadblocks in the name of “green energy”. Some of this is a ploy to force people into EVs. Are there studies that compare cost of ownership or environmental impacts of both? Or is this just the latest “feel good” trend? Rant over.

I think you did the conversion wrong. $1 canadian = $0.80 US. $220 canadian = $176 US. Still sucks!

I should have been clearer, that was converting liters to gallons and seeing what the same fueling would be here.

Today, the diesel was a full dollar a gallon more than regular. $6.399 at Safeway.

I'm in Pierre, South Dakota. Last week we had a place that was 6 miles out of town with diesel for $3.86 per gallon. (That's NOT a typo). Also, on Tuesdays, they gave a 10 cents off per gallon discount if you paid with cash or check. And......they have a rewards system so for every dollar you spend, you get 1 point and when you reach 100 points, you get a $5.00 coupon or voucher to use towards whatever you want. Last week there was a difference in price between the next lowest place in town of about $0.53 per gallon not including the discount of paying with cash or check on Tuesdays. So, if you figure the difference of about $0.63 on Tuesdays, if you have a 40 gallon tank, you could save over $25 for fuel. Definitely worth the 12 mile round trip or just under 1 gallon of fuel.

Today (Tuesday), I took both my trucks out there and it was $4.58 per gallon which was $0.21 cheaper than the lowest price in town (I check this stuff regularly). I also got the 10 cents off since I paid with cash so I guess it was $0.31 less. I only needed 32 gallons in one truck and 19 in the other so it wasn't as big of a savings as I'd hoped but still worth the drive. Since I just signed up with their rewards system last week, I won't get the vouchers until next week but if I go out every week, I'll get at least $5 or maybe $10 off additionally each week if I can keep getting at least $100 to $200 per week in fuel. That's $20 or more per week at least. I'll take $80 per month in fuel savings for a 15 minute drive round trip. Heck, that's 1/2 a tank.

Yes, haven't figured why it still keeps going up here either. Cost of a barrel has gone down, according to the news. Was pass 120. @ barrel been running between 108. and 112. last I looked. I keep hearing we only get 1% of are oil from Russia and 2% of are gas. This world market BS isn't helping America one little bit! Just the very wealthy. Had to get it off my chest I guess. God bless,

Chet

it’s not the wealthy….it’s our regressive “green” government and their feckless policy.

$6.65/gal for diesel at the shell down the street. $6.19 for premium gas.

But I'm still able to find it for around $5.80-5.90 at some of the discount places. Whoopee.

Guy we're buying the horse from in WY, is doing the hauling out to us. Deal is $500 plus fuel cost - I'm betting it'll be over a grand for fuel. He's driving a duramax and gooseneck stock trailer and will for-sure get better mileage than if we took Dan and the Camper and our bumper-pull and went and fetched him... He has a 100 gallon tank and I really hope he buys all his fuel outside of our tax crazy state...

NW Ohio is $3.92 to $5.29 if you play the game of purchasing fuel on the suppliers fuel card. Earn fuel back of $0.25 on every gallon yadayada yada..... I hate credit games and the BS loyalty cards......
