It seems like everyone on this site hates chevys and dodges.I dont understand that,I mean I like fords too but I also respect and appreciate their competitors. The fact is that chevrolet and dodge make good trucks too,so there is no reason to be so loyal to ford that you resort to saying everything else sucks because its simply not true.
I don't see alot of hate filled messages for either brand. I see alot of loyal Ford customers on this site, and of course we all like our trucks so we think they are better than the other big manufacturers and like to talk them up. I am a loyal Ford guy for 3 good reasons:
1) My 1991 Mazda (Ford) Navajo LX - Motor Trend truck of the year - over 200,000 miles and going, no major repairs, never left me stranded.
2) My pops 1997 F-150 5.4 Lariat - Motor Trend truck of the year - over 100,000 miles, zero repairs, never has let him down.
3) My new (to me) 1999 F-250 Lariat - over 120,000 miles, no major repairs on this truck so far.
Ford has earned my loyalty, and I will continue to buy from them until I get jerked around with a lemon. Whenever I see hate filled messages and silly brand bashing it has come from trolls with different brands.
My Bronco is 300k miles and still great. The engine was rebuilt and is now at 160k miles but it still runs like the day it came out of the factory. The driveline has the 300k miles on it, no major problems. The only trouble I've had is that I had to replace my worn, rusted out, chewed up, starter. Plus the truck has had a complete body restoration and looks like it just rolled out of the factory. Except for the one stupid keymark and the few paint chips.
Well I myself do not like chevys nor will I ever.I'm sure some of them might be nice vehicles But just about ever chevy driver thinks they are the best and trys their hardest to persuade you to agree...And their #1 arguement is ( nothing interchanges ) I get so tired of hearing that. Like Its fords fault they (chevy drivers) never learned what would and wouldn't interchange!! So yes I guess I'm bias as to what brand of vehicels I prefer and talk highly about..so if I offend anyone that likes chevys......SORRY....
but thats just the way I am........

I personally Don't see HATE related posts.
Maybe some, I really don't care for or,Dislike type posts.
I think it should be somewhat expected on a Ford site.
What I don't personally like is when Alternate vehicle Lover's come here to FTE and DIS the Ford product.
This to me is as bad as FORD people going to a GM,or Dodge site and shoot their mouths off on there about how bad their vehicles are.

To me that is being without class. "
Well said Dennis! I hate when people come in here to just stir up the .
Being a Ford nut as many are on FTE, we certainly have the right to show that we really dislike (not hate ) Chebbies and the others. JMHO
I have a (almost) friend that own a Chevy. The body is all rippled like a bag of walnuts. I asked him how it got that way once, and he said Ford owners kept touching it with a ten foot pole.

I still have a 2 GM's, one not by choice wifes car. All I can say I like my Ford. My other GM is sitting in the garage and getting used as a summer recreational vehicle only, oh yea, as soon as I can get it started again.
I don't think that GM, in general, has produced a good truck in a very long time. The vehicle history from owners show more repairs than Ford.
Dodge has always made a good truck, but lately in the last 10 years, they are somewhat risky when it comes to reliability.
Anyone can find examples of both good & bad in any make or model, yet it is the trend that is important. I see Ford trucks as being more reliable than others. Maybe this owner bias, but I have a 51 F-3 and a 96 Ranger. Both are not daily drivers, but I work them just the same. Great trucks. Can't say enough good about them
Some time ago I bought a 74 highboy that had a 400 mod.in it.The truck had been sitting in a farmers field for 10 count them 10 years. I drug it home changed dis.cap, rotor button, plugs, plug wires, carb. oil,and antifreeze. SHE HIT AND RUN ON THE FIRST TRY................FORD TOUGH..........NUFF SAID !!!!!!!!!!!!
i think my uncle said it best, the reason GM sold so many cars wasn't because they were better products. They were cheaper and easier to fix when they did break. He was a mechanic and always had Fords, now he has a Dodge dakota 4 door, and it's a nice truck I'd say, my dad had problems with his but that was in 97 when they first came out. It seems they might finally be working the bugs out from their "new" vehicle lines (the better looking one's after Bob Lutz who is now consequently with GM to try and get their product line up to par...........I guess it's a slow process.)
My Ford has proved to be reliable, it has 171,000 original miles and still runs like a dream, yeah stuff breaks but knock on wood nothing major and it doesn't leave me stranded. My father had 3 dodge's and problems with all of them, one landed him in someone's yard due to brake failure, but he had a ranger that the computer went bad on and the throttle locked down to the floor and he flew over the Hubert Humphry bridge in Merritt Island Florida at over 90 mph (that's no fun for anyone who's been there, luckily everyone got out of his way), He now has a Suburban and another Ranger and they both are treating him fairly well, my brother beat the snot out of the ranger so it has it's small quirks like electrical probs but it's lived a hard life. The suburban is mostly his wife's ride and has been relatively babied but has high miles ('98) and does alright although not problem free (starter etc.)
The moral is they all have problems, but the newer vehicles seem to really have less problems then the older one's IMO, which is good to see after the quality faultering in all the manufacturer's during the 80's.
