Reamer - Yes, Dad's truck would be seriously into the "deep pocket" area. But Rusty isn't, and he started life as a 2wd but now sports 4wd. I didn't do the conversion, but I know it can be done by buying a donor and then selling the remaining parts. Or, even better, by reconstructing the donor as a 2wd.
F100 - I'll check on the dip sticks in a day or so when I get home from this trip.
My breather has only been on for 3 days and it is already black from oil pictures attached and oil is leaking down the valve cover onto the coil and distributor attached is a picture I'm so confused on why this is so bad all my plugs are dry so I don't think it's blow by.
Also i attached the pic of my steering column where I seem to have play in the column anybody have any idea of what part this is I don't believe it's a rag joint though not positive.

So just got two new grommets a new breather and hooked up both vacuums to the pan and a 30 min drive later the new breather is full of oil and leaking down the valve cover what gives? Can it be blow by since my spark plugs don't show a speck of oil?
Hooked up both vacuums to the pan - what does that mean?
Is your PCV valve hooked up? Pretty much the only thing that comes up into the valve cover area is blow-by... ALL engines have SOME blow-by, the PCV valve sucks it back into the combustion chamber to be burned.
I think Chris nailed it. Sounds like you have it connected incorrectly on the ones I've worked on, vacuum comes from the back of the carb into the passenger's valve cover via the PCV valve. And on the driver's valve cover a hose goes from the oil fill cap to the little filter in the air cleaner.
The pcv I meant my phone auto corrected it I bought new grommets for both and a brand new pcv valve both vacuum spots on the pcv are hooked up to the intake vacuum and I'm still getting absolutely insane oil out of the breather in a 30 min drive it is probably a good 3 or 4 oz it only took it the 30 minutes to fill the new breather filter. Oil is fresh. Plugs had absolutely no sign of wetness or burnt oil on it so I'm not sure how it could be blow by. Could it be a blocked oil passage? The previous owner told me he did the oil pump and sump. I'm not sure if he could have messed something up that lead to this?
On another note does anyone know anything about the part of the steering shaft I posted a picture of my steering shaft has about 3 inches of side to side play and I think I've isolated it there.
